Louise Smith, Chief Executive Officer LinkedIn

Louise began her career in banking, working at Barclays and NatWest/RBS, focused on digital distribution and data, before becoming the first chief digital officer in the history of Lloyd’s of London. She has also worked as a FinTech Ambassador for HM Treasury, focused on bringing parties together from across all aspects of the industry to drive better outcomes for customers. Outside of Neuron, Louise is chair of the board for Innovate Finance, the independent industry body for the FinTech community and next generation of disrupters and challengers. Louise joined WTW in 2021 to lead the strategic direction and development of Neuron Digital Trading.

Taffy Jo has 25 years of Insurtech and commercial insurance experience and is renowned for her expertise as a practitioner within several functional areas of the industry. A self-proclaimed insurance nerd, she has been working on transformation since she was a Risk Management and Insurance student at the Maurice R. Greenberg School of Risk Science at Georgia State University. Over the course of her career, Taffy Jo has achieved crucial transformation as a business leader, consultant and technology product owner.

Alex is a leader in financial services technology with over 20 years of experience in technology consultancy, product management, and technical delivery. His innovative solutions and ability to bridge the gap between technology and business needs have earned him a stellar reputation among clients and colleagues alike. Beyond the boardroom, Alex finds balance through his passion for running, while his love for sci-fi fuels his imagination and enables him to anticipate industry trends and remain at the forefront of innovation.

Sam started his career at Lloyd’s of London, working in various roles across the business setting up overseas offices and markets before becoming digital channel lead. He then moved outside of the insurance sector to work with start-ups to scale their businesses, taking products from 0–1 and managing acquisitions of early-stage companies. Since joining WTW, he has been on the Neuron team, helping to deliver a new way of doing business in the commercial market that benefits everyone.

Tom Maleczek, Head of Strategy and Planning LinkedIn

Tom has worked extensively with P&C and life insurance businesses across claims, pricing, underwriting and third-party administration. His experience includes CTO for an international insurance technology and services organization and a variety of senior CIO advisory positions leading delivery of technology-enabled transformation programs. At WTW, Tom led the Technology Consulting business for the UK and Ireland, delivering technology solutions for clients transforming core functions including pricing, underwriting, financial management and responding to regulatory changes.

Patrick’s career began at WTW with the Corporate Risk and Broking Practice. There he worked with Lloyd’s on captive reinsurance arrangements, gaining first-hand knowledge of the intricate nature of commercial insurance transactions. Patrick then moved to the North American Insurance Transformation Practice at EY, supporting many leading P&C carriers to plan and execute their digital strategies. This included helping to build and deliver an industry-first digital trading platform for one of the world’s largest commercial P&C brokerages. Patrick returned to WTW in 2023 to lead carrier solutions for Neuron in the U.S.
